The Inquirer: There's a danger using generic words as part of your trademark and branding...Apple Computers has previously been sued by Apple Corp, the parent company for The Beatles, for trademark infringement. Now Tiger Direct is suing over the use of the word "Tiger" to describe Apples latest OS. "The company said Apple's use of Tiger had a negative impact on its ability to market its products to its customers since Apple Tiger talk tweaked search engine results." Well, they shouldn't have chosen the word 'Tiger' as their name... I think Apple's got a good defence considering all it's OS's have the names of big cats... (via Billboardpostplay)
