The Register: Following Google's footsteps Yahoo has also announced a digitisation of books, but has avoided the controversy by only including books that are already in the public domain...so far.
The article goes on to claim that the issue with Google's plan is not copyright but rather compensation: "Consider that this is not Google contributing to culture. It's Google trying to supplant the publishers as the middleman business between authors and readers," wrote Seth Finkelstein.
